Sunday School

We want the children to know who God is and to respond to Him in obedience. In order to accomplish this goal, our gifted and caring Sunday school teachers use games, songs, arts, and crafts along with solid Bible lessons to teach the children in a captivating way. We want to see the children's lives changed, so we put the emphasis on teaching God's word.

The Sunday school ministry is one of the most important of the children's ministries. During all three of our services we have classes for children from 3 years old through 6th grade. During the 8:00 am service we have one class for that entire age group. During the 9:30 am service we have a different class for each of the following age groups: 3 and 4 year olds, kindergarten through 2nd grade, 3rd through 4th grade, and 5th through 6th grade. We have the same classes during the 11:00 am service except that we have one class for 3rd through 6th grade.

For the 3rd through 6th grade classes we incorporate supplemental material into the Sunday school hour to further develop the children spiritually. First, we teach them basic Bible knowledge. The basics of the Bible give the children a greater understanding of the Bible itself and help prepare them to use the Bible as a tool in their daily lives. Basic Bible knowledge includes the books of the Bible in order, the ten commandments, the Lord's prayer, the great commission, and other key verses.

On occasion we also present a hero of the faith biography to the children in the 3rd through 6th grade classes. We want to encourage the children by the lives of individuals who demonstrated great obedience, faith, and sacrifice. Missionaries, theologians, and preachers make great heroes for the children to look up to and emulate.

We would love for you and your children to visit us in Sunday school. If you would like more information, please contact Clint McClure, our director of children's ministry.
